Android Nougat 7.0 update Samsung j7 Samsung is pushing out a software update to the Galaxy J7 (2016), the highest-end model in the company’s budget Galaxy J lineup, in India. It’s a sizeable update with an over-the-air download of 254 MB (and build number J710FXXU1APG5), but Samsung doesn’t mention any specific changes or improvements. The update does bring the security patch level up to July 1 (not July 5). Oddly, the Galaxy J5 (2016) is still stuck on the security patch from the month of April, although it should also also be getting an update in the near future that brings it on par with its larger sibling.

How to Update Samsung Galaxy J7 to Nougat Manually –
- First, enable USB debugging from setting.
- Download official Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy J7 from above and Unzip it.
- Download the latest version of Odin from above and unzip the zip file.
- Run the Odin_v3.10.7.exe file on your PC.
- Now Boot your Galaxy J7 into Download Mode by press and hold ‘Power + Home + Vol Down‘ buttons.
- Once you enter into Download mode, you see an ID: COM port turned blue and Added message in Odin message box means your device has recognized by Odin. If ID: COM doesn’t show means your driver is not correctly installed or try it with different USB cable.
- Now locate and add the firmware ‘.tar‘ file (you downloaded from above) to the AP/PDA tab in Odin.
- Make sure that only these two options are tick “Auto Reboot” and “F.Reset Time“. (make sure Re-partition is NOT ticked)
- Now click ‘Start‘ button and it will start flashing the file. Wait until you see ‘Pass‘ in Green Color on Odin screen.
- Done.
