There’s not a lot that has leaked out about the features of iOS 10 yet, but one possible new feature is the long-requested ability to hide default apps. This news comes to us from AppAdvice, which found clue in the code of the latest iOS 9 beta that Apple is working on allowing users to hide default apps (like Mail or Stocks) in an upcoming iOS update. If this is true, people are gonna go crazy with joy as the ability to hide default apps is one of the most requested features ever.

Just as Apple debuted a Health app to centralize information from HealthKit apps, iOS 10 is rumored to finally include a “Home” app that will centralize data and command control of HomeKit-enabled devices, according to MacWorld. It makes sense that Apple would debut a Home app since developers have been making diverse third-party HomeKit-compatible apps for a while now. Supposedly the app will organize your HomeKit devices by virtual rooms and allow you to control devices based on the room you are physically in. iOS 10 new feature: new 'Rootless' security system
Another possible new feature comes to us from Redmond Pie that says Apple is working on a new security system called “Rootless” that will make jailbreaking almost impossible. The site says the Rootless system "is aimed at preventing even administrator-level users from gaining access to certain file systems on an iPhone, iPad or Mac - though it's believed that it can be disabled on the company's desktop OS… Apple has been plugging holes in iOS for years, holes that jailbreakers have historically used to gain access to parts of the system that they would normally not be able to interact with. It's this opening up of iOS at a fundamental level that is likely to be thwarted by Apple's 'Rootless' technology, leaving jailbreakers very much at the beginning of what could be a long and difficult journey." iOS 10 new feature: iCloud Voicemail
This new feature comes to us from Business Insider who says Apple is working on a service that will allow Siri to transcribe voicemail messages you receive and then send you a text with the transcribed message. As BI says: “Apple's proposed solution is both incredibly simple and incredibly clever: People like to leave voicemails (it's often quicker to orally deliver your information than it is to type it in a text message). But they don't like to receive voicemails (it's a lot quicker to read a text than it is to listen to the person talking to you). A patent reveals iOS 10 might be able to show us when our friends are available and when they are away. As MacWorld notes, the patent could be “summarised as a system that detects where your friends are, and whether they're available and the operating status of their iPhone (such as silent or Airplane mode), and presents that information in the Contacts app. If you're thinking that has the whiff of surveillance about it - well, it does, but only to the same extent as Find My Friends, and it would presumably be optional for both parties.”
